Although this herding breed has an “Australian” name, it is proudly an American Breed. They are a very popular and with puppies like this, we can see why. Sunny is just 5 months old.

And it was found as a stray in Florida through the help of the Dachshund’s microchip. We heard the story this morning on CNN but couldn’t find it on their website. It was such a wonderful story that we scoured the internet to find it.

Abby Mason thanked her mom and a fellow Dachshund owner named Krista for helping pick up the stray dachshund in Florida where it turned up after 6 months. A microchip saves the day once again.

This past week was a very joyful week for some dog owners who had lost their dear pets. One owner went to the extreme of wearing a bikini in Sunny San Diego California for 7 straight days before she was reunited with her cute Chihuahua.

And in the same week, a miraculous story about a stray dog that after 8 years. The stray was taken to a shelter in Yuba County Calfornia and was identified as Petunia through her pet microchip. The owners were notified 3,000 miles across the country in Virginia.

The question is whether there is a current owner who never took Petunia to the vet, or did the vet never scan her microchip. We have pet microchips on our dogs but we hope we never have to report them missing. It does gives us peace of mind thus we recommend you at least look into it; although a bikini as a backup might double your insurance.
